Local Data Maps

These are interactive data maps to the local area, including a map of wireless access points. The maps are implemented using the AJAX technology, through the Google Maps API. Other than a demonstration of what can be done by mapping data onto a geographic map, these won't be interesting to anyone outside the local area.

Wifi Map

Using NetStumbler and a home-made cantenna to wardrive, we mapped all the local access points, put the GPS coordinates into XML format and loaded them into an interactive map using AJAX and the Google Maps API. The mapping was done on 08-12-2005 and does not include security information. The map itself is fully interactive and instructions for using it are on the map page, at the top.

Movement Map

The movement/range map is a somewhat spotty tracking of my range of movement for a year. This is mostly business travel; the majority of the places I go outside of Silver Lake Village are for work.

Eyeballing

This is an eyeballing example for Silver Lake Village, Ohio, USA. The practice of eyeballing is interesting to me because of it's relation to plotting data on a map and combining data with relevant images.
